The Melburnian

Melbourne, Victoria

1998 / 2001

The Melburnian occupies a site on St Kilda Road, opposite Melbourne’s Botanical Gardens.

The Melburnian is a unique mixed use development offering 235 high-quality residences mixed with public amenities on a single site.

The garden terraces and podium levels define a strong urban edge with solid masonry base echoing the adjacent blue stone buildings. The two towers were designed to present differently when viewed from varying aspects. The curved southern and eastern facades are predominantly a reflective curtain wall. This is comparatively recessive to the northern and eastern facades which are highly articulated with deep balconies and an overlaid grid.
